Part-Time Maintenance Worker

Hocking.Athens.Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is excited to announce that it has an  opening for a part-time Maintenance Person at the Central Office in Glouster, Ohio. This position is responsible for the orderly and timely maintenance and janitorial services of assigned buildings and facilities.

A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants must be skilled in all areas of building maintenance and janitorial services, be semi-skilled in all areas of building construction and renovation, capable of working individually and as a team, possess excellent communication and have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. In addition, applicants must be willing to work flexible hours and be able to pass a criminal background check. Hocking Athens Perry Community Action’s Head Start Program has immediate openings for the following positions:

Center Based Teacher in Athens, Laurelville, Logan, Nelsonville, and New Lexington:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10 months a year.  Applicants must have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with preference given to those with a BA.  Salary is $20.42 – $25.54 an hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Early Head Start Home Visitor in Logan:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 12 months a year.   Applicants must have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with preference given to those with a BA.    Salary is $ 20.67 – $25.99 per hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Home Visitor in Corning/Nelsonville:  This is a 40 hour per week position working 10 months a year.   Applicants must have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with preference given to those with a BA. Salary is $20.67 – $25.99 per hour depending on educational qualifications with a full benefit package.

Bus Driver in Athens:  This is a 17 hour per week, 10-month position at $20.97 an hour.  Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.  Must have the ability to cope with stressful situations as related to pre-school and special needs children.

Chief Financial Officer

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking a collaborative, proactive leader inspired to support the organization’s mission to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The role is responsible for an annual budget of over $30 million and oversees all financial operations of the agency, including accounting, compliance, financial reporting, payroll, budgeting, audits, risk management, and developing effective administrative procedures, policies, and internal controls.  

Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is a key member of the executive leadership team and also prepares and presents financial reports for the Board of  Directors. The CFO oversees the human resources team and provides oversight for all Agency Benefit Plans, including the Agency Health Plan (self-insured), indirect Cost Allocation Plan, and 401(k) Retirement Plan. 

Successful applicants must either be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or, at a minimum, have a baccalaureate degree in accounting, business, fiscal management, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in a related field and nonprofit experience is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting and administration is required. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong organizational and communication skills, demonstrated financial and program management abilities, and the ability to lead and inspire an experienced and dedicated team. A commitment to addressing the causes and conditions of poverty and hunger is essential. 

The salary range for this position starts at $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with 100% health, dental, and vision coverage for the employee, a generous paid time off package, retirement plan with 6% employer matching, and periodic Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA).

Food Distribution Ambassador - COMCorps

We are looking for a COMCorps service member for the 2024-2025 service year!

The official title is Food Distribution Ambassador. Length of Term: August 8, 2024 – July 23, 2025 (11.5 months)

The Position Summary: The member will engage in vital work to support food insecurity interventions in a 10-county service area. The member will support current distribution processes including assisting in mobile and onsite markets, as well as rural summer programs including Summer Feeding and Summer Meals. As a focus, the member will have the creative opportunity to expand upon a school-based pantry program and a fresh choice market program reaching neighbors in targeted counties. Within these two program areas, the member will engage with current agency partner pantries to develop and implement best practices for distributing food. The processes above will be guided by data metrics, such as MPIN (meals per person in need) and pounds received/distributed.

Requirements: Members should be mission-based with a commitment to serving Appalachia. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as well as passed FBI/BCI background checks are required. Members should have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be an individual of good character and responsibility; high level of confidentiality and integrity required. Must maintain a positive and respectful attitude and act as a role model within and outside the Agency. Must have the ability to work well with a wide range of individuals including staff, partners, neighbors, and vendors. Computer literate in all basic office software and internet functions.

Compensation: Earn a living allowance of $19,300+ and an education award of $7,395 for 1,700 hours of full-time service. Will also automatically qualify for SNAP benefits through the program.

Laborer - Housing Office

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill
available full time Laborers in our Housing and Community Development Division. The
laborer position provides assistance in completing units for our Home Weatherization
Assistance Program (HWAP) which provides energy efficient measures in client’s
homes such as blown in insulation, air sealing, and ventilation.

Applicants must have basic knowledge of or interest in the construction trades, be able
to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50
pounds. Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete training courses to
include but not limited to: EPA Lead RRP, Basic Weatherization Tactics, Blower Door
Use, and OSHA 10.

The position will be based at our Housing Office, located in Nelsonville. The starting
salary is $15.00/hour ($31,200/yr) with full fringe benefits including but not limited to
paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision
insurance.

Job Supervisor - Housing Office

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is seeking applications to fill
available full time Job Supervisor in our Housing and Community Development
Division. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for supervising assigned crew for
the Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) and WarmChoice Program
which provides energy efficient measures in client’s homes such as blown in
insulation, air sealing, and ventilation. The Job Supervisor position is responsible for
maintaining inventory, completing assigned job specifications in compliance with
Standard Work Specifications, completing paperwork associated with job, and
providing consumer education. Candidate must be able to communicate well with
others including inspectors, clients, suppliers, and supervisor.

able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces, and be able to lift a minimum of 50

Heating Technician

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is excited to announce a new position at the
agency, Heating Technician. HAPCAP is seeking to recruit one of these positions to
assist our Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) program with HVAC
related work as it pertains to energy conservation as well as health and safety in residential
settings.

Applicants must have at least one year of HVAC experience (two preferred) and the EPA 608
Technician Certification Type II or Universal. Applicants must be able to work at heights as
well as in confined spaces and must possess an ability to achieve production requirements.
Applicants must be highly organized and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic, possess a
valid Ohio driver’s license, have a good driving record and have access to reliable transportation.
The successful applicant must have or be able to complete training programs such as Heating
Technician Training, Heating Unit Inspection, Lead EPA RRP, and OSHA 10. The salary for
Heating Technician is $40,000 - $45,000 per year with full fringe benefits including but not
limited to paid sick and vacation leave, select paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision
insurance.

Part Time On Call Maintenance Worker

Hocking Athens Perry Community Action is seeking a part time Maintenance Worker to be available to respond to emergency maintenance needs at Creekside Apartments in Chauncey, Ohio outside of standard business hours. The times of possible short notice need to respond will be from 4 PM - 8 AM daily Monday - Friday as well as all weekends and holidays. Hours of work will vary greatly, be inconsistent and will be based solely on after hours need.

Applicants will be expected to be able to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance functions at any of the six buildings at Creekside Apartments and should have 1 year of maintenance experience. Applicants must be able to work on all aspects of the property both inside and out as well as in confined spaces and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
