As the week comes to an end, we wanted to take a minute and recognize #NationalVolunteerWeek! At Centra, supporting the Communities we serve is a large part of our mission. One way we support our Communities is through volunteerism. Centra Team Members love volunteering their time at local organizations and non-profits to help further their mission to support those in need. At Centra, community involvement plays such a big role in our organization that we provide each and every Team Member with paid family and community time that they can use to spend time with family and get involved in their communities! Earlier today, some Centra Team Members participated in United Way of Jackson County's poverty simulator. Did you know, according to 2022 data gathered by the US Census, there are more than 37.9 million Americans living in poverty? That equates to 11.5% of the US population. Poverty is a serious issue, not only in America, but worldwide. Poverty simulators are a great opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of those living at or below the poverty line and better understand their situation.
