The Springs Living understands the important legacy mothers pass on to their children. So when Jamie Ballard, a sous chef at The Springs at Sherwood in Oregon, wanted to bring in a clam chowder recipe passed down from her mom, she was encouraged to unleash her creativity. And the community reaped the rewards - the residents still can't get enough of it! Today we honor all the traditions passed down by mothers, whether recipes, life lessons, or simply stories. Thank you to all the mothers of The Springs Living — whether you're a staff member, family member, or resident — for your dedication and unwavering love that enriches lives every day and makes it easy to fulfill our promise to all residents. Today is the start of National Nurses Week, and we want to express our appreciation for the dedicated and compassionate nurses who are the backbone of our health services teams. These team members play an indispensable role in supporting The Springs Living's purpose of helping residents live life to its fullest. Leading the charge of health services across The Springs Living are three exceptional nurses: Steven Berning, Brennon Hand, and Brittany Brown. Steven, who is director of health services for The Springs Living, was encouraged by his mom, also a nurse, to pursue a career in senior living. As a caregiver and med tech, he was mentored by the director of nursing, inspiring him to follow in her footsteps. "I have been with The Springs for 12 years now, and every year is a new adventure and a new opportunity to achieve greater levels of excellence, innovation, compliance, and quality," Steven says. Brennon Hand, a regional nurse for The Springs Living in Oregon, has worked in assisted living for 13 years, nine of which have been with The Springs Living. He was recently appointed to serve a two-year term on the Oregon Governor's Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board, where he supports education regarding senior living, with the hope of improving the relationship between providers and EMS while also trying to reduce unnecessary 911 calls. Brittany Brown, a regional nurse for The Springs Living in Montana, has also been with the organization for nine years, first as a resident services coordinator and then director of health services at The Springs at Butte. Brittany decided to become a nurse after being treated poorly by nursing staff when she had knee surgery in high school. "I wanted to change that and be able to help people with kindness and compassion, especially during some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments in their lives," she says. Our gratitude goes out to these three and to the nurses they work with every day for their unwavering dedication, resilience, and tireless efforts in delivering exceptional quality care to residents. Your unparalleled compassion inspires us all to make a difference. #nationalnursesweek #seniorliving #teamsprings

Wilsonville Mayor Julie Fitzgerald and our founder and CEO Fee Stubblefield were on hand to celebrate 10 team members of The Springs at Wilsonville, the first graduating cohort of our Getting Ahead course. The curriculum is designed to support employees' understanding of personal finances and professional development. In the process, the group collaborated to solve workplace challenges, and a number of participants realized they were farther along financially and professionally than they had realized. Congratulations on a job well done! #wilsonville #oregon #gettingahead #seniorliving #teamsprings

🎉Fifteen years after it opened its doors, The Springs at Tanasbourne in Hillsboro, Oregon still has it! Yesterday, we celebrated a milestone anniversary of the community and the experienced, dedicated team that makes it home to more than 250 Hillsboro residents. Designed to prompt socializing among residents, this beautiful community is in the center of the action near a variety of shops, parks, and restaurants. It raised the bar for other communities in design and, more importantly, in delivering quality service. It's no surprise that the readers of the Hillsboro Tribune voted The Springs at Tanasbourne the Best Retirement Community in 2023. We're grateful to be part of this desirable neighborhood. Here's looking forward to many more years together!🎉 #seniorliving #hillsboro #hillsborosbest #15yearanniversary

When you've been in business for nearly 30 years, you learn a few things and collect stories to pass down to new team leaders to continue with what works. That prompted Founder and CEO Fee Stubblefield to document the business principles and cultural elements in his new book, A Culture of Promise: The True Story of a Small Company's Quest to Transform the Senior Living Industry. The book is now available for pre-sale on Amazon. (See the link in the comments.) #WorldBookDay #seniorliving #culture #promise

The Springs Living's Art of Delicious philosophy is all about bringing people together over delectable food. For those who want to get a more up-close experience into how that works, we have occasional chef's demonstrations. The talented Lisa Cummings, pastry chef at The Springs at Lake Oswego in Oregon, recently drew a large crowd in the community's demonstration kitchen. Her creation was an upside down chocolate pear cake — turns out it was just as delicious as it was beautiful! #artofdelicious #seniorliving #pastrychef #lakeoswego
