NEW POLICY: USAID has long supported initiatives that increase access to mental health services. The Agency now elevates this commitment with the launch of a Mental Health Position Paper, USAID’s first policy document related to the integration of mental health into our programs. The Position Paper signals our strong commitment to addressing mental health in development programming, recognizing the central role that mental health plays in advancing the Agency's mission regarding inclusive international development. Positive mental health allows people to more readily cope with stressors and adapt to change. At scale, mental adaptiveness translates into stronger, more resilient communities. In this way, elevating mental health throughout USAID is another way of putting into practice our Agency's mission of advancing a free, peaceful, and prosperous world. This week during the Philanthropy Europe Association Forum, USAID welcomed Belgium’s development cooperation agency, Enabel, and nine European foundations as they endorsed the Donor Statement on Supporting Locally Led Development. These organizations join 15 other foundations and 20 donor countries in a shared commitment to: ✔️ Shift and share power to ensure local actors have ownership over programs ✔️ Work to channel high quality funding as directly as possible to local actors ✔️ Publicly advocate for locally led development. USAID continues to help build a global coalition of funders who are committed to advancing #LocallyLed development. Learn more at usaid.gov/localization.

USAID, announced multiple new partnerships in Morocco to advance inclusive climate action, food security, and youth empowerment. Wrapping up a four-day visit, Administrator Samantha Power highlighted several new programs and initiatives that build on the more than six decades of partnership between USAID and Morocco: 🔹 A new partnership with the Rabita Mohammedia League of Scholars and International Organization for Migration. This local partnership empowers youth and supports the Government of Morocco’s efforts to address challenges confronting young Moroccans. 🔹 A new partnership with the OCP Group, a Moroccan fertilizer producer, underscoring USAID and OCP’s commitment to address food insecurity throughout Africa and to working together to tackle critical barriers hindering Africa’s agricultural potential. 🔹 A new partnership with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and GiveDirectly to launch the first component of USAID’s new climate program in the country. #USAID #Morocco #ClimateChange
