Always call the number you know. It is rare that your institution will reach out by calling or texting, especially for verification purposes, unless you’re actively working with them on a matter that you’re aware of. If you get a call that appears to be from TruStone or another trusted organization, this could be a fabricated attempt to gain trust and access to your information. Follow your instincts - someone calls and their requests don’t feel right, they’re probably not. Remember to contact us immediately if you suspect someone is targeting your account.
About us
TruStone Financial is a credit union driven to create exceptional financial experiences. We engage, educate and inspire our members to achieve lifelong financial well-being. Federally insured by NCUA. Equal Housing Opportunity Lender. Equal Opportunity Employer. It all began with a few teachers and a dream. Back in 1939, eight Minneapolis teachers decided to take control of their own financial security. They formed the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers Credit Union. Over the years the credit union has endured name changes, added field of memberships and expanded across the Midwest. In 2020 a merger with Firefly Credit Union – Minnesota’s first financial cooperative – made us the second-largest credit union in the state. But your goals have always been our priority, and we exist to help you reach them. As a not-for-profit financial institution, we're different from a bank because our members are our owners (people who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in our membership area). Our profits are returned as competitive rates, higher investment returns and fewer fees. Federally insured by NCUA. Equal Housing Opportunity.

My Mission: Inspiring credit unions and leaders to transform into being better servants for their members, employees, and communities.
Serving Members is an Art of Stewardship Several years ago, I worked with Dale Turner, now CEO at TruStone Financial Credit Union. As the VP of Lending, he stood at the podium of an all-staff meeting and challenged the entire credit union to “think for the member, don’t just respond to the member.” Dale had the wisdom to know the difference between “order taking” and “serving.” Let me illustrate this difference using a metaphor. Our team had the privilege of spending some time at Junior Achievement this year to help support youth financial literacy! Our very own Steve Steen, a Junior Achievement board member since 2009, shared, “This organization’s commitment to financial literacy for our youth better prepares them for the future. This is what we look to do through our credit union efforts and TruStone Financial Foundation – provide financial education in the communities we serve to help our members achieve lifelong financial wellbeing.”
