  • Celebrating a new cohort of Management Development Series graduates! This May, a cohort of leaders from across the Health System completed a rigorous program to learn and apply critical practices for leading teams. Participants engaged with subject-matter experts and experienced facilitators on a range of topics: developing coaching skillsets, leading through change, shifting mindsets, improving patient experiences and more. Participants completed a character strengths assessment, and throughout the series they were challenged to apply strengths in new ways. This series is one of many programs complementary to the Marshfield Clinic Health System Leadership Learning Journey. We invite you to learn how your career path could help you on-ramp and join this group of skilled leaders on a rewarding and confidence-building leadership learning journey -> https://lnkd.in/dPV3Y5gV

  • Congrats to Dr. Alpa Shah, psychiatrist with Marshfield Clinic Health System, who is serving as the American Hospital Association representative on the HHS Maternal Mental Health Task Force subcommittee of the Advisory Committee for Women’s Services. On May 14, the Maternal Mental Health taskforce announced a national strategy to recognize the fact that mental health conditions are the most common complication of pregnancy; maternal mental health impacts not only the health of the mother but has health consequences for children as well. The national strategy envisions a seamless integration of perinatal mental health across medical, social and community systems. • We are pleased to rededicate the Horizons Gardens now that the Marshfield Medical Center-Minocqua construction project is complete. Thank you to everyone who assisted with re-establishing this important commemorative garden. The original Horizons Gardens were dedicated in 1994 thanks to the vision of a very special group of volunteers. Its mission has remained the same - to provide a place of peace and comfort for patients and families who are impacted by a life threatening illness.
