With our region's wealth of beautiful public lands, we were excited to participate in last month's Appalachian Community Gateway Communities Initiative Workshop hosted by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) with our partners at Outdoor Recreation Council of Appalachia and the Wayne National Forest to learn how we can better equip Southeast Ohio communities to draw recreation visitors to Main Street.
Congrats to seven community teams for completing the Appalachian Gateway Communities Initiative (AGCI) 2024 workshop! 🎉 AGCI helps towns bordering national and state parks, forests, and other public lands develop thoughtful tourism strategies. This year, teams representing five Appalachian states convened in Decatur, Alabama to learn about preserving and promoting their local assets. Watch this recap 👇 and then read about ARC's longtime AGCI partnership with The Conservation Fund and National Endowment for the Arts: https://lnkd.in/ezd5gFFJ
