Who hasn't experienced prejudices such as "mothers are less committed and available at work," "older colleagues are not familiar with new technologies," and "people with disabilities are less efficient"? It's natural for our brains to think in boxes. Everyone has prejudices. But studies show that the majority - 62 percent - are not aware of it. Most people have experienced prejudice or even discrimination. It usually comes in the form of microaggressions, such as whispering or rude comments and treatment. In the worst cases, it can lead to harassment and physical or psychological harm. People who are discriminated against experience feelings of insecurity, helplessness, fear, and even guilt. They also tend to feel less healthy and get sick more often. At Bayer, we want a future without discrimination. With this goal in mind, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Community Germany has created this personal contribution. The day was filled with opportunities for connection, networking, and exploration, as well as inspiring talks from five remarkable speakers who shared their insights on creating social impact. The event kicked off with a site tour of Bayer's facilities, giving the ambassadors a behind-the-scenes look at the company's operations and history. The day ended with a meet and greet with several Bayer employees, providing a chance for the ambassadors to learn about the company's culture and values firsthand. The highlight of the day was a series of talks from four exceptional speakers who shared their experiences and perspectives on creating social impact. From affordable prothesis to menstural equity , the speakers covered a range of topics instrumental to making the world a better place. Throughout the day, the ambassadors had the opportunity to connect with one another, sharing their own experiences and ideas for creating positive change. The event was a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact that can be achieved when like-minded individuals come together to drive progress. As we reflect on this event, we are reminded of the importance of fostering a community of leaders who, committed to creating a better world.
