The Municipality has launched a FireSmart Home Rebate Program to provide grants to eligible homeowners who get a FireSmart home assessment and complete recommended work. The program is available in all communities in the municipality. 📆To receive a rebate, residents must first book a free FireSmart Home Assessment online or by calling Pulse. 🔨Rebates will be provided on a first come, first serve basis after confirmation of the completed work by FireSmart team members. The rebate program is being funded to a total of $100,000 for this year. Residents will be eligible to receive rebates until program funds have been exhausted, limited to one rebate per address and one rebate per homeowner. We are pleased to announce that the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program, is re-launching! 🏙 🏢The program provides municipal grant funding to help local businesses, organizations and commercial property owners in the downtown area, improve their building and property. Council approved a total of $2.4m in available funding which is available for application until May 2026, on a first-come, first-serve basis. 🛠️Changes to the program: Key changes have been made to the program to make it easier for businesses to take advantage of the grant funding available. Businesses now have up to 18 months to complete projects, instead of the previous 12 months. The grant streams available include: • Façade improvements • Interior improvements • Premises improvements • Murals • And, projects that include accessibility and safety may be eligible for additional funding. 📁Ready to apply? Applications are now open for the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program! The program will continue to May 2026 or until funding runs out. Downtown businesses, organizations and commercial property owners are strongly encouraged to arrange a pre-application meeting with municipal staff so they can answer questions and help with the application process. Property owners have a variety of ways to pay their property taxes: at a financial institution, through Internet banking, by mail, online or in person at a municipal office. In Fort McMurray, in person payments can only be made at the Jubilee Building as Timberlea Landing is no longer open. The deadline to pay property taxes is Friday, June 28, 2024. #YMM #RMWB

The Municipality’s construction season is well underway with 33 new projects in the works and 46 multi-year projects continuing to progress. Much of this year’s focus is on ensuring existing assets are in good shape including numerous playgrounds, parks and buildings.
