Building Inspector


Working under the supervision of the Chief Building Official the Building Inspector is responsible to review all construction drawings, issuing of permits and perform on-site inspections of all construction (buildings, structures, alterations, additions, renovations, and septic disposal systems) development and demolition in accordance with the Ontario Building Code Act, Municipal By-laws and all applicable legislation.
The ideal applicant should have a diploma or degree in a discipline related directly to building design and construction. A minimum of two (2) years-experience working extensively with the Ontario Building Code in building design OR the equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion OR working towards the completion of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing examination program relating to "General Legal", "Small Buildings". Qualification in the On-Site sewage systems would be considered an asset.
Applicants must have access to reliable transportation to travel to various work locations.
