The Mitchell & District Agricultural Society and the Mitchell Fair, The Biggest “Little” Fair in Ontario since 1854; are pleased to welcome you to our site.

President’s Message

On behalf of the Mitchell District Agricultural Society, welcome to the 170th Mitchell Fall Fair “A Small Town Round Up!” Wow! 170 years of “The Biggest Little Fair in Ontario”. Where has the time gone? It would be neat to have told the members attending the very first Mitchell Fair that it would still be running 170 years later and better than ever! We all know that the fair may not look the same as it did 170 years ago but it still has one thing; dedicated volunteers! I can’t say enough of the great volunteers that make this Ag society and all our events possible.

I hope you have fun looking through the fair book to pick out what you are going to enter into the fair this year, then the greatest fun working on your entries.  Whether it’s a needlecraft entry that takes you most of the year, the fresh baking the day of judging, watching your crops grow from the great weather we hope to have this year or helping your kids with their crafty items for the junior or elementary section. Hope to see everyone August 30th – September 1st having the most fun weekend of the summer that we all look forward to each and every year.
