Jackson waiting for a Kidney
Donation protected
Help Jackson Cox while he waits for a kidney.
I recently met Carrie and Jackson Cox and found them to be 2 of the kindest, nicest and most generous people I have met in my 40-plus years in Peterborough, NH. They did not ask me to do this.
I discovered their situation from a post Carrie’s sister Tasha had made on FB back in August. Most of which is below.
Back in March of 2021 Jackson was admitted abruptly to the hospital after gaining 70 pounds of fluid. This is when Jackson was diagnosed with kidney disease.
His kidney disease progressed faster than was expected. Jackson has gone through many changes since March. December 26, 2021 he went to Lebanon for 3 days to have his port placed into his stomach. Surgery went great!
He is now in stage 5 of kidney disease and will be getting a transplant when a donor is found. He’s working with teams from Dartmouth for all his needs. Carrie is his caretaker for him when it comes to after-surgery care and daily dialysis and daily medical needs.
Jackson is self-employed and has and will be out of work multiple times during the process. Sometimes the length will be longer than he would like but will be necessary. They will need help with keeping up with medication and medical supplies that insurance won't cover, or still has a big copay fee. They will also have times when staying in a hotel in Lebanon will be necessary.
I am hoping that a Go Fund Me campaign will be more successful for them.
They need help from their family, friends, and community during this very challenging time.
Thank you to everyone for considering to help. Even sharing the campaign is helping!
