Renewables Helping Hoosiers

Because of payments from renewable energy projects, many rural communities will be able to fund schools, first responders, community centers and provide high speed internet access where there is none today.

Renewable Community Benefits

  • Schools

Between 2008 and 2018, taxes on Benton County renewable energy projects have allowed the county to give $3 million to schools

  • First Responders

EDP Renewables committed $300,000 to support local community projects in White County, which supports volunteer fire departments, community parks, downtown beautification, and more

  • Highspeed Internet

A three-county project in western Indiana delivered fiber optic direct-to-home for 75% of the population

Hoosiers Speak Out

Hoosiers from across Indiana speak out about the positive differences renewables are making in their communities.
