Take any dead canes or plant material out for sure, then just trim them as you need to keep them manageable.

My June raspberries grew to 8 feet long by the end of the summer. I trimmed them back to 5 feet, then the side shoots sprouted and are now 4-5 feet. How far back to trim them. They get sun till 12, then 4-6 so don’t know if they are reaching for the sun. I have also added many bags of composted manure. Suggestions? What are u trimming yours to today?
7 weeks ago Millar Berry Farms 1
Marg Steers, we are cutting out the old dead canes and thinning them out by removing any thin or damaged canes.  If you cut more than 25% of your canes you will reduce your yields. It sounds like you are doing well with plant nutrition. 👍
