Road Construction Season Starts in May 2024

This construction season, City contractors will begin work on a portion of the projects identified by the City as “2023/2024 Street and Infrastructure Project”. This project has two phases – with two different contractors.

PHASE 1
10th Ave W From 13th St So to 11th St S
13th St So From 12th Ave W to 7th Avenue W

PHASE 2
6th Ave W From 9th St No to 13th St No
17th St So From 12th Ave W to Southern Drive

Please use caution at all times when traveling in or near the construction zone and please follow all detours, as signed.

FILINGS FOR CITY COUNCIL SEATS OPENS MAY 21, 2024

In accordance with the Minnesota Election Laws, the City of Virginia will observe the following dates for the election Three (3) City Council members for a four (4) year term from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028.

Filings for said offices will open at 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. daily beginning on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, and close at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in the office of the City Clerk, Room 6, City Hall, 327 South 1st Street, Virginia, Minnesota.
