As one of the first integrated projects of its kind globally, The Tent Mountain complex - located near Crowsnest Pass in Alberta, Canada - repurposes and contributes to our vision of becoming a global leader in clean electricity and responsible energy transition. Alongside an offsite green hydrogen electrolyser, and a Piikani First Nation owned offsite windfarm; TransAlta and Evolve Power Limited are jointly developing an environmentally sustainable Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (PHES) facility, that can dispatch power to Alberta’s electricity grid for up to 15 continuous hours. TransAlta is proud to share that our White Rock Wind Project is now operational. The project, fully contracted to Amazon Energy LLC, will supply 300 MW of clean, affordable energy in Caddo County, Oklahoma. With White Rock achieving commercial operations, TransAlta’s renewable portfolio in the US has now expanded to 820 MW. “We are pleased to bring into service our first clean electricity project in Oklahoma, White Rock, which is our largest wind project completed to date,” said John Kousinioris, President and Chief Executive Officer of TransAlta. “White Rock was made possible through our long-term customer relationship with Amazon and its commitment to power its operations with 100 per cent renewable energy.” Read more on our website, here: https://ow.ly/uuhY50RnAZB
