Women's Health Month_fixed

May is National Womens Health Awareness Month

During National Women’s Health Awareness Month we are reminded that women are at a higher risk of developing certain health conditions than men. These include conditions including depression, osteoporosis, thyroid disease, and urinary tract infections.

At BMH, we want to join healthcare providers across the country to help empower women to prioritize their health. This includes seeking medical help when needed. It also involves engaging in preventive healthcare including checkups, examinations, vaccinations, adopting healthy lifestyle habits, and more.

Cervical cancer screening should start at age 21. And mammograms should be performed every year for women who are 40 or older. Regular colonoscopies should be scheduled starting at age 45.

Take the first step today. Schedule an appointment with your primary care provider.  Or contact the outstanding providers at BMH’s Four Seasons OBGYN and Midwifery.
