Hamel Meats (2015) Ltd is a family-owned business that has been operating in Cold Lake, Alberta since 1962. Hamel’s Meats has always been recognized as having a friendly and easy-going environment for both customers and staff. Hamel Meats was established by Gaston (Gus) and is run by his two sons Greg and Rob.

In Cold Lake for business, had a location-based reminder on my phone to make sure I didn’t leave without some of their... famous beef jerkey! The service was excellent, we were greeted like family, and the friendly staff even offered to vacuum-seal our meat for the flight back. The best jerky I've ever had. Absolutely love the "chunks" style as it is very meaty and juicy. I have tried most of... the flavors, my favorites are "sweet and spicy" and "bourbon". I order them online to Vancouver Island and they have arrived within a week every time in double vacuum sealed packages. The price is also super reasonable(especially with the specials they constantly have running) and the product is fantastic.10/10 would recommend to anyone who likes beef jerky.read more

Based on the great reviews I ordered a large order of jerky that just came yesterday. As soon as I got the Canada Post... notification that it was delivered I drove from my cottage to my home and back (7 hours round trip) I can tell you it was worth the drive ... OMG the BEST JERKY I have ever had. I have a lifetime of enjoying beef jerky and years of making it. I can tell you this is the best hands down!! You now have a life long customer in me.read more

I’ve never been a big fan of beef jerky and I now know why......because I never had Hamel’s. I have family in Alberta... who helped my wife send a variety of their jerky to our home in Mississauga. Put simply......Hamel’s makes fantastic products. Superb variety of flavours, high quality meat, packaged in resealable packs and shipped fast. We blew through our first order in no time and are currently working away at another order we just received. This family run business has been around for a long time because of their fresh outstanding... product, super friendly knowledgeable staff , never have to wait for service , the horseradish cheese and cheese smokies are the best I've ever had, stocked up with 10lbs of bacon for our freezer and my pup will be very excited for her frozen pigs ears , this is the best butcher shop in northern Alberta , second to none!!!read more
