About us
American Peat Technology manufactures value-added products from natural reed-sedge peat. Our bioAPT line of products is used to carry time-tested and innovative technologies to the field. Our granular bioAPT is the industry standard for peat-based Rhizobia carriers. Other uses for our bioAPT line include other PGPM, remediation microbes such as Pseudomonas, micronutrients and biopesticides. BioAPT is available in granular crumble, powdered fines, and coming soon, a spherical prill. Our APTsorb line of products harnesses the natural affinity of reed-sedge peats for the sequestration of heavy metals, but transforms it into a hardened granular material that can withstand continual hydraulic loading. APTsorb is effective against a variety of metals, robustly adapts to changing conditions, and is a cost-effective treatment method for many applications. APTsorb can be deployed in tanks, vaults, booms or nearly any configuration where the flow rate can be controlled and the water-media contact is sufficient. American Peat Technology is committed to stewarding the valuable peat resources of central Minnesota. Minnesota peats are a unique natural resource that can be sustainably harvested through careful use and thoughtful reclamation. Even as APT harvests peat, we are staging revegetation efforts to return our harvest area to sustainable, peat-producing wetlands.
