In November of 2023, Michelle (AKA "Marathon Michelle"), resident of Arden Courts - ProMedica Memory Care Community (Cherry Hill), was able to attend the Philadelphia Marathon and cheer her son on as he raced towards the finish line! Michelle has completed more than 30 marathons, passing along her life passion to her son, Ian. Waving purple pom-poms (in honor of dementia awareness) and a special sign, Michelle was certainly in her element. Watching Ian cross the finish line brought her an incredible amount of joy, and was a truly memorable moment for all. We are so grateful we can provide experiences such as these, and even more so when we get to see our residents experience them.

Arden Courts Memory Care Advisors Kathryn Foxx (Parma) and Laura Chernauskas (Westlake) met with Arden Courts Memory Care Senior Community Relations Specialist, April Suva-Surovi, to provide expert dementia training to nurses and PCNAs at the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital. Participants discussed the most common types of dementia, the emotional and physical changes one might experience, and managing behaviors and symptoms, all while ensuring the best outcome for the patients. Opportunities like these are vital for our communities to come together and learn more about memory care, and we are grateful we we get to be apart of that process.
