When disaster strikes, our Network Disaster Recovery Support Team is ready to spring into action. Made up of volunteers, these are team members from across #LifeAtATT who step away from their normal roles to help restore connectivity. They recently held a training session in Texas with Travis Profitt, National Director for Network Disaster Recovery, who told us all about it: “The equipment and processes we use for disaster response is always evolving. Training gives us the opportunity to learn new skills and practice established ones in a controlled environment. It also gives us a chance to train new members to the team. In this session, we trained on various deployable tools to restore service and various emergency response assets. We are often deployed to areas that have minimal or no infrastructure support – like power, food, and water. We bring our own supplies and equipment in so we can be self-sufficient and do our work without placing additional strains on the area. Our support equipment includes bunk and shower trailers, power and emergency communications equipment, and a field kitchen trailer with members of the team trained and certified to prepare meals.”

Cheers to our Market Strategist – FirstNet® & Public Safety, Mohammed Farshori, on a milestone #LifeAtATT anniversary! “It feels like just a few years ago that I started as a sales rep at AT&T – my first ever job in the US after moving from India. I believe that your career is what you are paid for, but your purpose in life is what you are made for, and my 20-year career has helped me connect all my roles at AT&T with my purpose in life: giving back to society and our environment. Over the years, my mentors have provided support, guidance, opportunities, and platforms to grow professionally and pursue my passion to make a positive impact in the world. From connecting people to our OG data plans to being part of the iPhone launch; getting two patents granted, launching and leading products, co-founding employee groups, leading the launch of AT&T believes in nine countries, championing sustainability, and now leading long-term strategy for public safety and #FirstNet. All these roles across different business units have allowed me to align my career with my purpose, and for that, I’m immensely grateful. To all my past and current mentors, colleagues, and friends at AT&T, thank you for being a part of my journey. Here’s to 20 years of purpose-driven work and to many more years of making a difference together!”
