What a wonderful time of learning and idea sharing with our sister Local Development Districts, the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service at Ohio University, OhioSE, JobsOhio, our partners at the Ohio Department of Development Governor's Office of Appalachia, Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), U.S. Economic Development Administration and leaders from across Appalachian Ohio! If you missed this year's State of the Region Conference, be sure to watch sotr.ohio.edu for the session recordings.
Today was a great day to join our regional partners, sister local development districts, state funders, stakeholders and grass roots organizations to talk about innovation and ideas at the annual State of the Appalachian Region Conference hosted by the Ohio University Voinovich School, OhioSE/JobsOhio, Buckeye Hills Regional Council, Eastgate Council of Governments, OMEGA-Ohio MidEastern Governments Association, and Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission (OVRDC). Panels of regional experts who have guided successful projects on Downtown Revitalization, Attainable Housing, Workforce, and Funding Sources shared ideas currently in action and new strategies that attendees could take back to their communities for implementation. This year’s event was max capacity with over 300 in person and another 100 online attendees. Thank you to all who took the time out of their busy schedules to be there, share and learn. Save the date for next year and we will see you then! #econdev #communitydevelopment #localdevelopmentdistrict #economicdevelopmentdistrict
