We are thrilled to announce the expansion of CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System facilities to serve more East Texas communities. Today, we broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art standalone emergency center in Henderson, expanding compassionate and exceptional care to the area. The facility will offer around-the-clock emergency services, full-service imaging and on-site laboratory services. We are excited to be able to serve more East Texans as we advance our mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. https://lnkd.in/g9b6b8eP

We're celebrating #EarthDay by highlighting our commitment to stewardship! At CHRISTUS Health, we're proud to uphold our core value of stewardship by partnering with Stryker to reprocess six types of medical products. Not only does this initiative keep durable items out of landfills, but it is also fiscally responsible! In our 2023 fiscal year, our commitment to reprocessing resulted in millions of dollars in savings. Together, we're making a difference for our planet and our community. christus.io/mission

It’s been a fun week attending the 14th Annual Becker's Conference and being part of the “What's Next for Children’s Hospitals: Big Ideas and Strategies” panel. I really enjoyed teaming up with Luanne Thomas Ewald, from Cs Mott Childrens Hospital, Melissa Golombek from Tampa General Hospital and Jared Muenzer of Phoenix Children's to discuss the future of children's health, the crucial role of collaboration, the importance of partnerships and the leading role children's hospitals play in health and advocacy. It was truly inspiring to share the stage with such passionate professionals who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.   Huge thanks to Becker's Healthcare for letting us dive into such crucial topics! #BeckersAnnualMeeting #ChildrensHealth #PowerOfPartnership #HealthAdvocacy

We're incredibly honored to have received the 2024 CoStar Impact Award for commercial development of the year for Dallas-Fort Worth for our Ministry System Office. This building has brought together almost 2,000 Associates under one roof to strengthen our health care efforts in our 600 locations in the United States, Mexico, and Chile and Colombia. This recognition is a testament to our team's dedication and hard work in bringing this project to fruition. As we embark on this new chapter, we remain steadfast in our mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

Spring is often favored for its beauty but also brings allergy season for many. Approximately 80 million Americans are affected by seasonal allergies. Some confuse sinus infections with allergies due to similar nasal symptoms, but each requires different treatments. Dr. William Pickard of Family Medicine says preventative medicine is the key. "Many of the chronic conditions that affect our population today could be helped by taking preventative steps before those conditions occur," Pickard said. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the nature of your sinus infection or allergy and the most appropriate treatment plan. Today's total solar eclipse reminds us that no matter how dark things get, hope always shines through🌖. We know our Associates, physicians and patients soaked up the wonder of today's eclipse and will use it as fuel to find light in every corner of their lives and the lives they touch. Here's to chasing brightness wherever we go💜!

As we gear up for the total solar eclipse, we remember the importance of protecting our eyes. Dr. Damon Smith of Optometry urges eclipse viewers to only use sunglasses with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 12312 label from reputable vendors. “The eye is a magnification system much like a telescope – it is focusing light,” Smith said. “If you are looking at something with as much radiant energy as the sun, the eye is focusing that light on the retina, which could lead to ocular injury. We want people to enjoy the event, but please take precautions, which means using adequate and approved eyewear.” Your vision is precious – take the necessary precautions to enjoy the eclipse safely! One of the benefits of being an international Catholic nonprofit is our health system's ability to learn from each other. Associates and leaders from CHRISTUS Health in Santiago, Chile, did just that with their recent visit to CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. 🇨🇱💜🇺🇸 Their visit included a comprehensive tour of our facilities, led by Ryan Tamula from the emergency department and Deb Chelette from the Louis and Peaches Heart Hospital. From state-of-the-art equipment to compassionate patient care, we shared insights into how we deliver top-notch healthcare services, allowing CHRISTUS worldwide to continue our mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
