Thank you for letting us be a part of this amazing Earth Day experience, Langston Boulevard Alliance! 🌎
The numbers are in! We have so many organizations and people to thank. We will try to keep it brief. However, it will be difficult. This year's Earth Day Festival was a success because of the nearly 100 community partners and organizations involved. We are so grateful to have had the pleasure to work beside each of them! Our activities center was packed full of engaging, family friendly games, scavenger hunts, art projects, face painting and more thanks to the hard work of the teams over at: Encore Stage & Studio, The Waverly Hills Civic Association, Arlington Public Library's Library truck, Long Branch Nature Ctr, The Arlington Art Truck, Arlington Artists Alliance King of Pops, and Sing Songs with Emily. Arlington Councilwoman Susan Cunningham and Sierra Club Executive Director Ben Jealous were kind enough to warm up the mic for our musical guests. Big thank you to the nonprofit and private community partners like BikeArlington, EcoAction Arlington Master Gardeners of NOVA, Arlington Friends of Urban Agriculture Small Trees make Large Canopies, Sierra Club, Solar United Neighbors, Linda's Lab, Wildbirds Unlimited 80 Acres Farms, Save Soil for generously provided us with eco friendly programming and community resources. Arlington County Government came in strong to support the Earth Day efforts in Arlington with programming from Stormwater, Vision Zero, Arlington Initiative to Rethink Energy (AIRE), Arlington Community Housing and Development and the Arlington Solid Water Bureau. This year’s raffle items were generously furnished by Langston staples- Metro 29 Diner, Limoncello Boutique and Compass Coffee. Let’s not forget the 35+ local artists, artisans and salespeople who offered us their expert craftsmanship and ecofriendly products. Please check out the event’s webpage to find more information about each of these local small businesses. Many of these vendors have brick and mortar shops and/or online sales opportunities. https://lnkd.in/eQ49hgvS None of this would be possible without our generous sponsors.
