Students from the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy gave back to their community while gaining a hands-on STEM learning experience! Joining Exelon employee volunteers and executive sponsor Gayle Littleton, they helped Friends of the Chicago River gather litter at Canal Origins Park. While cleaning the park and learning about the environmental impacts of litter, the young women from the STEM Academy and our employee volunteers got the chance to network and discuss career paths. #EarthMonth #NationalVolunteerMonth

At Exelon, our mission is to lead an equitable energy transformation for customers and communities and I feel privileged to be able to live our purpose in celebration of National Volunteer Month. It was an honor to sponsor a volunteer event with Big Shoulders Fund at Saint Francis de Sales High School on the southeast side of Chicago. Together, we dedicated our morning to gardening and beautifying the school grounds with students, our future leaders of IL!      Big Shoulders Fund’s mission to support schools with demonstrated need is special to me and it’s always a pleasure to work alongside them. It’s a bonus that their work ties into Exelon’s mission by preparing the next generation of leaders for life-long success. The passion and dedication of the students and educators, including principal Roni Facen – a proud alumnus and Big Shoulders Fund scholar – were truly inspiring.    I’m so proud of Exelon’s culture of volunteerism and strong community partnerships, which are not only integral to our identity but allow us to be deeply connected to the communities we serve all year round. #NationalVolunteerMonth
