Today United States Steel Corporation confirmed a 20-year agreement with our portfolio company, CarbonFree, which will capture and mineralize up to 50,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually from the steelmaker’s plant in Indiana. The project will be the first commercial-scale #carboncapture utilization plant at a steel plant in North America. We’re proud of efforts on both sides to reduce emissions in the steel industry, which accounts for 7 percent of global greenhouse gasses. https://lnkd.in/gE-hCUPP

US Steel is exploring #carboncapture with our portfolio company, CarbonFree. We couldn’t be more proud of CarbonFree and US Steel and their efforts to help decarbonize the industrial sector, which is key to addressing climate change. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. industrial sector accounts for 32% of the nation’s primary energy use and 28% of its annual CO2 emissions. The collaboration will officially take place at US Steel’s Gary Works plant in Gary, Indiana, which produces 7.5 million net tons of steel per year. https://lnkd.in/ddXtpnuj 

Our portfolio company, BayoTech Hydrogen, is making significant strides to help #decarbonize transportation. It’s building it’s first #hydrogenhub, a dispensation station where hydrogen-powered vehicles can fill up.
