Mainstreet Credit Union began in January 2013 when two southwestern Ontario Credit Unions – Unigasco Community Credit Union in Chatham and Sydenham Community Credit Union in London-Middlesex partnered together. In June 2014 and 2015, Lambton Financial Credit Union in Sarnia and Goderich Community Credit Union in Goderich joined Mainstreet respectively.

A time to reflect on and recognize the many contributions that people of Asian heritage have made and continue to make to Canada. Asian Heritage Month has been celebrated since the 1990s. In December 2001, the Senate adopted a motion proposed by Senator Vivienne Poy (the first Canadian Senator of Asian heritage) to officially designate May as Asian Heritage Month in Canada. In May 2002, the Government of Canada signed an official declaration to announce May as Asian Heritage Month. Did you know that over six million people living in Canada as of 2021 reported having Asian heritage, making up over 17% of the population of the country in total.
