Raising a child 👶 takes a village, and, unfortunately, not every parent has one. We're #MedStarHealthProud of our efforts to reduce maternal health disparities inside and outside the walls of our hospitals. Over Mother's Day weekend, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center and Clinton Baptist Church welcomed hundreds to their first Community Baby Shower and Resource Fair in Prince George's County. Over 30 non-profits shared services to help with everything from nutrition, education, and finances to car seat installation, lactation support, relationship support, and much more. Each mom left with donated diapers, wipes, and other essentials. Some won larger items like strollers, car seats, and pack-and-play cribs! We believe that by addressing maternal health disparities head-on and fostering a supportive environment, we can save lives.
