93 years ago, history was made. On this day in 1931, Gov. Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Power Authority Act at his home in Hyde Park. The law created the Power Authority to develop the hydroelectric power potential of the International Rapids section of the #StLawrenceRiver.

Governor Kathy Hochul and US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced the start of construction for Edwards Vacuum's $319M #semiconductor facility in Genesee County, which will strengthen #NY's semiconductor supply chain and create up 600 #jobs in the #FingerLakes region. “By leveraging low-cost hydropower, NYPA plays a pivotal role in attracting manufacturers of advanced technologies to New York. #BARKingUpTheRightTREE: To celebrate #ArborDay, NYPA President & CEO Justin E. Driscoll planted a tree sapling outside of Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site in #Yonkers. Afterwards, he toured the house and grounds, which provides visitors with a balanced approach to interpreting the lives of indigenous, European, and African people and to understand the complex relationships that took place at the manor from the earliest days of the Dutch Colony of New Netherland to the American Revolution and beyond. #25MillionTreesNY

We're lighting up #EarthWeek with The City University of New York's newest energy-efficient #LED lighting at York College CUNY.
