Canada's first provincial health services authority. Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is one of six health authorities – the other five health authorities serve geographic regions of BC. PHSA's primary role is to ensure that BC residents have access to a coordinated network of high-quality specialized health care services. PHSA operates provincial programs including BC Children's Hospital, BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre, BC Emergency Health Services, BC Cancer, BC Centre for Disease Control and BC Transplant. It is also responsible for specialized provincial health services like chest surgery and trauma services, which are delivered in a number of locations in the regional health authorities. You’ll be responsible for leading projects, activities, and best practice initiatives to strengthen clinical transfusion safety across British Columbia. This role also collaborates with leaders and partners such as transfusion medicine clinical and technical professionals and physicians at both the provincial and national levels.   • BC Emergency Health Services was honoured to have Lieutenant Governor of B.C. Janet Austin present Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medals (ESM) to the 2023 recipients. The award recognizes outstanding professionals with 20+ years of exemplary service in pre-hospital emergency care. In total, there were 24 recipients for 2023, and three who were presented with their medals who were unable to attend their ceremony in previous years. ESM long service bars were also presented to BCEHS staff for 30 and 40 years of service. Congratulations to all recipients!
