On May 9th, Moira Demorest, Music Officer, attended the City of Music Conference in London. She had the honour of presenting a case study on the Broom Factory, diving deep into innovative ways to carve spaces for creatives within our communities. The discussions throughout the day revolved around UNESCO's Sustainable Development Goals and how we can integrate them into our local landscapes. From Music Declares Emergency presentations by Kim Fry to countless insightful conversations with music offices and advocates, this was an impactful event. A highlight from this conference was witnessing the talent of London Rock Camp For Girls alumni, the Thunder Queens. Keep an eye out for them, Kingston! Thank you to Corey Crossman and the London Music Office Team for orchestrating such an enriching event. The team at Tourism Kingston can't wait to see what's in store for next year!
