Today, caregivers enjoyed some time outside as ChristianaCare Union Hospital hosted their Caregiver Resource Fair with over 30 vendors. Caregivers received informational resources for patients and learned about programs in the community. They also went home with tons of goodies, tote bags, and a free sweet treat from Mister Softee! Some cute rocks were also added to our rock garden. A huge thank you to all the community partners, attendees, and our event sponsor APGFCU! On Friday, April 12th Cecil Campus Medical Staff celebrated Doctor’s Day 2024 at Blue Elk Vineyard! Providers were treated to a meal and drinks as we celebrated their accomplishments. The Physician of the Year Award, Advanced Clinical Professional of the Year, and service awards were handed out. Our winners were: • 2024 Doctor of the Year – James Jarvis, MD – Surgical Services • 2024 Advanced Practical Clinician of the Year – Trevor Thomas, PA-C – Critical Care James Ley, MD also celebrated 32 years with ChristianaCare Union Hospital. Today caregivers at our ChristianaCare Union Hospital campus were joined by the Maryland Department of Social Services to plant 12 pinwheels to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month 💙. The pinwheel represents the whimsy of childhood and reminds us that every child deserves a happy and healthy life. A huge congratulations to Eva Porter, a senior certified nursing assistant at ChristianaCare Union Hospital, for receiving the ROSE Award! 🎉🌹 Two patients nominated her for the kindness and compassion they received during their hospital stays. “Eva went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable,” one nominator wrote. Caitlin was praised as “an example of how to show #love and provide excellent care.” The ChristianaCare ROSE Award recognizes outstanding partners in nursing who help deliver compassionate, excellent care to patients and families. Congratulations to Paige Reynolds, BSN, RN, of the Emergency Department at ChristianaCare Union Hospital for receiving the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses! 🎉 Reynolds was nominated by a grateful patient for her "awe-worthy" care during his emergency room visit. Arsalan Sheikh, DO, MBA, has been named chief medical officer of ChristianaCare Union Hospital. In this role, Dr. Sheikh will serve as the senior physician executive of Union Hospital, responsible for quality, safety, care standardization, clinical outcomes, and patient experience across the continuum of care.
