Nanton Insurance has been independently owned and operated in Nanton since 1986. The organization was founded by Clarence Rhyasen, Harvey Chaffee, and George Blake and built on the foundation of integrity and service.
Nanton Insurance currently represents Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, Optimum West Insurance, Aviva Elite Insurance, Nordic Insurance, and several specialty insurers for hail, livestock, health, life, disability and travel insurance.
Nanton Insurance has two licensed agents on staff. Robb Thaell & Lisa Kohut, both have a proud history of providing their customers with prompt and efficient service.

Our home insurance policies provide various coverages that help pay to repair or replace your home and belongings in certain situations such as fire, theft or hail. TENANT INSURANCE
Tenant insurance helps cover you for damage to your personal property caused by unexpected issues such as fire, smoke damage, vandalism and theft. Tenants insurance can cover your personal belongings, accidental damage to neighbors property and additional living expenses.
AUTO INSURANCE
Our auto insurance policies mitigate costs associated with getting into an auto accident. We provide a variety of insurance policies for the following types of automobiles including; personal vehicles, commercial vehicles, farm vehicles, classic vehicles and antique vehicle.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is insurance designed to cover the costs and losses of unexpected events incurred while traveling. Travel insurance is a useful protection for those traveling within Canada or abroad. We provide two types of travel insurance, visitors to Canada and Canadians traveling abroad.
Alcohol & Event insurance
Any establishment that sells, serves, or assists in the purchase or use of liquor can be held liable if someone drinking to the extent that injuries or property damages occur. Our insurance policies can help mitigate this issue. This coverage can include coverage for drunk driving, assault and slips and falls.
Livestock INSURANCE
Livestock insurance covers against losses to animals such as horses, poultry, and cattle. These policies pay to replace livestock that dies, has to be put down, or is stolen. This can apply to losses that happen while the livestock is on-site or in transport. We offer various livestock insurance policies to meet your needs,
FARM & RANCH INSURANCE
Similar to a standard homeowners insurance policy, farm and ranch insurance covers your home, personal property, liability and additional living expenses. RECREATIONAL VEHICLE INSURANCE
Recreational vehicle insurance is similar to auto insurance and helps mitigate costs associated with accident, theft and vandalism. We offer coverage for the following Recreational vehicles; motorcycles, ATV & dirt bikes, boats and RVs.
LIFE INSURANCE
Life Insurance is a contract between you and the Insurance Insurance company, They will pay a designated beneficiary a sum of money in exchange for premium payments, in the event of the insured person's death. We do not directly provide life insurance but we can refer you to other trustworthy insurance companies.
OUR TEAM
Robb Thaell
Robb has been in the insurance industry since 2005 when he started his career as a claims adjuster in Lethbridge, and an insurance agent in a Southern Alberta agency. Robb has the experience to assist you with all of your insurance needs, in all aspects of general, commercial and farm and ranch coverage.
Though he was raised in Calgary, Robb has deep family roots to the agricultural and commercial industry in Southern Alberta, and has always had a great affinity for life in small towns.
Robb is married to Anna Blake, a Nanton native. Both Anna and Robb have Southern Alberta ancestry spanning over 100 years, so are understandably delighted at the opportunity to continue the tradition by living and raising their family in Nanton.
Lisa Kohut

Lisa obtained her insurance license in 2001. She worked in Okotoks prior to joining Nanton Insurance in 2005.
Lisa currently works at Nanton Insurance while raising two young children and helping her husband on their local family farm. Lisa enjoys serving the friendly people of Nanton and surrounding communities and is happy to assist them in all of their insurance needs.
As of July 2019 Lisa is now the Office Manager.
Anna Thaell
Anna was born and raised in Nanton Alberta. Her father, George Blake was the previous owner of Nanton Insurance, and Anna is thrilled to be able to carry on his legacy.
Anna took on the role of HR & Accounting for Nanton Insurance and works along side her husband Robb to bring the best insurance services for the Nanton community.
