Wilmington College began its fall semester Monday (Aug. 25) against a backdrop of excitement fueled by new building projects, a potential record-breaking group of new students and the promise of a milestone year. Nearly 450 freshmen and transfer students arrived Thursday and embarked upon a new student orientation program designed to prepare them for a successful Wilmington College experience.

Wilmington College welcomed what potentially could be the largest freshman class ever Thursday (Aug. 21) as new students moved in and began four days of orientation activities. Upperclassmen will arrive this weekend with fall semester classes starting Monday (Aug. 25).

Two Wilmington College students from Clinton County had a unique opportunity to make the transition from viewing their community as previously narrowly focused teenagers to that of adult insiders.

Varieties Of Tomatoes

While a cool summer has affected the growing season of some types of tomatoes, visitors can expect to see — and have an opportunity to taste — more than 175 varieties at Saturday’s (Aug. 16) fifth annual Tomadah Paradah.
