Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
The City of Raymondville is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. This is a non-supervisory position requiring technical expertise. Duties include maintaining wastewater pumps, equipment, facilities, and assisting with or conducting laboratory tests.
Working conditions and expectations:
Works outside and indoors, involves standing, walking, and driving from place to place frequent lifting of heavy materials. Knowledge of and experience with machinery and sewage system operations. Ability to work in mechanically oriented situations repairing equipment and machinery and making judgment pertaining to repairs needed. Ability to take and understand various water utilities short courses. Ability to conduct required laboratory tests and analyzing results. Other duties as assigned. Ability to apply common sense, and understanding to carry out instructions.
Acceptable experience and training:
High school diploma or its equivalent and at least (3) three years’ experience in actual sewage system operations or its equivalent. Plus a minimum Class C Certification by TCEQ in Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations, and valid Texas driver’s license.
