Jessup Borough is seeking a Lead Counselor for our Summer Youth Program. The Summer Youth Program is scheduled to be held Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM between 06/24/2024 and 08/01/2024. The Lead Counselor will perform a variety of tasks including arranging recreation activities, arts and crafts, sports, games, and hobbies. The Lead Counselor will be responsible for overseeing all Junior Counselors. A full job description can be obtained by contacting the Borough Office at 570-489-0411. A Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field or a commensurate combination of education and experience is required. Previous experience working with children preferred. A successful applicant must pass reference checks and background screenings, which include fingerprint check and sex offender registry check. A successful applicant must be able to participate in games, sports, and physical activities; be able to maintain attention and a high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time; and must be able to spend the majority of time outdoors and tolerate a variety of weather conditions.
