Field Safety Advisor

Saturn has an opportunity for a full time Field Safety Advisor based out of the Drayton Valley, Alberta office. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for the collaborative development, enablement, support and administration of Saturn's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and processes. This individual will be supportive to many aspects of the operations business and overall corporate safety program development.
Some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Field Safety Advisor include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with field personnel through frequent scheduled visits to drilling, production, and construction sites for regular inspections, assessments, and audits to align with Company expectations.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement programs and processes to reduce and eliminate injuries, illnesses, environmental damage, and financial losses while maintaining regulatory compliance and company standards.
- Provide support and guidance on incident response to ensure personal safety is the top priority.
- Oversee, coordinate, and conduct incident investigations, causal analyses, incident reviews, and work with leadership to development appropriate corrective actions and dissemination of lessons learned.
- Provide guidance and support to management and contract personnel with regard to health and safety expectations and implementation of the EH&S policies and programs.
- Provide oversight of Contractor Management Program for assigned function to include contractor orientations, audits, inspection of field operations, and participate in pre-job meetings.
- Coordinate emergency response training, planning and implementation of drills and response for assigned operational function.
- Conduct, participate and review safety inspections and observations, quality reviews, trend and analyze data as well as assist in the completion of corrective actions as required.
- Support development, implementation, tracking, and monitor and review effectiveness of the hazard assessment program.
- Track and monitor safety data and trends in order to report and province recommendations to Management and the JHSC.
- Participate in the respective provincial Joint Health and Safety Committees and represent Saturn on external safety committees.

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- 15+ years experience in Health & Safety related work in the oil and gas industry.
- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is required.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) would be considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs.
- Self starter willing to collaborate, work independent and handle a variety of tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication required.
- Possess and maintain a driver's license and have a clean abstract.
