Human Resource Advisor

Salary: Class 5, ($50,632-$64,136) level dependent upon experience

Summary:
Under the direction of the Director General, and in accordance with the policies orientations and priorities adopted by the Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation Tribal Council (AANTC), the Human Resource Advisor conducts research in the fields of occupational classifications, current salary settlements, legislation and regulation applicable to human resource administration and management, human resource planning, job opportunities, human resource management information systems, and current trends in HR training and development. Will provide information and assistance on request to member communities and to the AANTC management and staff. The Human Resource Advisor organizes, plans and supports the development of training modules, workshops and information sessions in relation to human resources and capacity building with the member communities.
Mandatory Educational Requirements:
College Diploma in relation to Human Resources or Certificate in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations or related field, OR
Experience in human resource administration or human resource development or other relevant experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
Initiative and ability to work independently and within a team.
Ability to speak, read and write fluently in both English and French.
Professional tact and diplomacy are essential.
Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
Knowledge of the Algonquin culture and communities.
Knowledge of the Algonquin language will be considered an asset.
Working Conditions:
Must not possess any criminal convictions in an area related to the job and must undergo a screening process (Criminal records check).
Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
Ability to work irregular hours.
Ability to travel on short notice.
